Cecil Arthur Butler was an Australian businessman born in Warwickshire, England, who founded Butler Air Transport Co. After migrating to Australia around 1910, he trained as a tool maker and later in aviation. He earned his flight licenses in the 1920s and became notable for flying a Comper Swift from England to Australia in a record time. With backing, he secured a mail transport contract in Queensland and New South Wales, leading to the establishment of his air transport company, which evolved into Airlines of New South Wales. He was honored as an OBE in 1958.
