Carmel Maude Holmes (5 December 1945 – 7 November 2021) was an Australian politician and businesswoman. Born in Winnaleah, Tasmania, she established a recruitment business at 19 and later founded Holmes Consulting Group. Elected to the Tasmanian House of Assembly in 1984 as a Liberal, she focused on employment, youth affairs, small business, and community welfare. Though she supported government policies, she voiced concerns over healthcare training relocations. After losing her seat in 1986, she returned to business, revitalizing a flour mill and a granary into serviced offices before passing away in 2021.
