Carl Jóhan Jensen, born December 2, 1957, is a Faroese writer and poet. He spent his childhood in Tórshavn and later moved to Denmark, earning his student degree in 1976. Jensen studied the Faroese language in Tórshavn and Icelandic in Reykjavík. He returned to Tórshavn as a journalist and progressed in his literary career, evolving from introspective lyricism to a more outward, epic form. Currently regarded as one of the premier writers and critics of the Faroe Islands, he has received several awards and nominations for his works.
