Carl-Erik Høy was a Danish civil engineer and Ph.D. He obtained his degree in 1972 and a Ph.D. in 1978 from DTU, writing his dissertation on the deposition of isomeric fatty acids in biological membranes. He served as an assistant professor, later becoming a lecturer and then a professor in 2000. His research focused on the metabolism of polyunsaturated fatty acids, vitamin E, and peroxidation and greatly contributed to understanding fat absorption and metabolism. Høy was instrumental in founding the Lipotech center, which produced significant research outcomes before his untimely passing due to multiple sclerosis.
