Carl Emil Englund was a Swedish author and considered one of the proletarian poets. Born on August 13, 1903, in Norsån, he began his literary career with his debut in 1925. He worked various jobs including as a forest worker and shopkeeper, and became involved in anarchist circles in Stockholm. He contributed articles and poems to the newspaper Brand, co-wrote a literary manifesto, and supported young writers. Englund was pivotal in establishing the Boklotteriet in 1948 to assist authors financially. He passed away on December 19, 1964.
