Cai Xiao was a Taiwanese military officer and politician who played a significant role in the Chinese Communist Party and the People's Liberation Army. Born in 1919 in Tainan under Japanese rule, he joined the New Fourth Army in 1937 and became a CCP member by 1939. He was involved in various military training roles, including in the Air Force, and later served in the Central Committee from 1973 to 1982. After his military career, he chaired the Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League from 1979 to 1983.
