Buford John Schramm, known as B.J. Schramm, was an influential businessman and helicopter developer who founded RotorWay Aircraft in 1961. He specialized in kit helicopters and later operated Eagle R&D, producing the Helicycle. Tragically, he died in a crash of his own helicopter design in Idaho. Schramm was recognized posthumously for his contributions to aviation, being inducted into the Experimental Aircraft Association Homebuilder's Hall of Fame in 2006.
