Bruce Robertson Hobbs (1920-2005) was an English jockey and racehorse trainer. He made history as the youngest and tallest jockey to win the English Grand National when he rode Battleship in 1938, just after turning 17. Additionally, he achieved notable success two weeks later by winning the Welsh Grand National on Timber Wolf. Hobbs ended the 1937-38 season with 35 winners, and became the first jockey to clinch three Grand Nationals in a single year.
