Britta-Lisa Joutsen (née Björkman) was a Finnish children's and youth author, who was also trained as a diploma architect. She authored several youth novels in the 1960s focused on the United States, including 'Maija lähti Kaliforniaan' (1963) and 'Taivas mikä sisar' (1969). Her English novel, 'Lingonberries in the Snow' (1968), depicts a family's visit to Finland. Joutsen was honored as an honorary member of Finnish Youth Writers' Association and received the Enlightenment Prize in 1968.
