Brian Burgess is a Scottish former high jumper, born on 30 September 1957. He set a personal best jump of 2.20m, establishing a British national record. A six-time Scottish champion, he won a bronze medal at the 1978 Commonwealth Games with a jump of 2.15m, marking him as the first Scot to earn a high jump medal since 1950. Burgess was also the British national champion in 1978 and achieved significant successes at the UK Athletics Championships, with two titles in 1979 and 1981.
