Brent Dowe was a Jamaican musician and singer born on June 29, 1946, in Greenwich Town, Jamaica. He was a member of the ska-reggae band The Melodians, formed in 1963. The band achieved notable success in the late 1960s and early 1970s, especially with hits like 'Too Young to Fall in Love', 'Swing and Dine', and 'Rivers of Babylon'. The latter was controversially covered by Boney M. in 1978 without Dowe's consent. He passed away on January 28, 2006, in Kingston, Jamaica, in poverty due to a heart attack.
