Brenda Milner is a Canadian neuropsychologist, born on July 15, 1918. She is renowned for her significant contributions to clinical neuropsychology and is sometimes referred to as the 'founder of neuropsychology.' Starting in 2010, she became a professor in the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at McGill University, and also holds a position in psychology at the Montreal Neurological Institute. Her current research explores the interaction between the left and right hemispheres of the brain. Milner has received numerous accolades, including the Balzan Prize for Cognitive Psychology in 2009 and the Cajal Prize in Neuroscience in 2014.
