He maintained an incredible fifty-year winning streak in eating contests. Known for his extraordinary caloric intake, Miller's diet reached up to 25,000 calories daily. He was also a liquor distributor and an avid horse racing fan. He married Janice Bidwell and had three daughters, but faced personal tragedies that influenced his retirement from competitive eating. Miller lived to 89 despite health struggles late in life.
