Harold Boyd Elder (1944–2018) was an American artist known for his vibrant works, especially the painted skulls featured on the covers of The Eagles' album 'One of These Nights' and their compilation 'Their Greatest Hits (1971–1975)'. He studied art at the Chouinard Art Institute and earned a BFA in 1968. His works gained prominence in the art world, with a notable exhibition in 1972. Elder passed away on October 16, 2018, in San Marcos, Texas.
