Boris Shkitkin was a Russian checkers player and international master, born on February 29, 1936. He won a silver medal at the USSR championships in 1965 and was a three-time champion of both Moscow and the Armed Forces. Shkitkin gained notable acclaim for his checkers compositions, winning the USSR championship in miniatures twice in 1976. Additionally, he co-authored the book 'Мир миниатюр' (1994) alongside Vladimir Matusi and Sergei Juškevitš. He passed away on May 1, 2015, in Moscow.
