Boris Ivanovich Bursov (November 1, 1905 - April 12, 1997) was a Soviet and Russian literary scholar and critic. He became a member of the USSR Union of Writers in 1938 and worked at the Russian Literature Institute between 1938 and 1941. He earned a doctorate in philology in 1951 and held professorships at Leningrad State University from 1948-1966 and Herzen University from 1966 until his death. He was recognized as an Honored Scientist of the RSFSR in 1976 and received the USSR State Prize in 1987.
