Bohdan Juliusz Konrad Piątkowski, also known as Stanisław Karpiński, pseudonyms 'Mak' and 'Dżul', was born on April 11, 1910, in Lviv. He served as a captain in the artillery of the Polish Armed Forces and was a member of the Cichociemni, the elite paratroopers of the Polish resistance during World War II. He is believed to have died in 1943 in Minsk.
