Björn Ingimarsson, born on December 30, 1954, is the mayor of Fljótsdalshérað. He graduated from MA in 1976 and obtained a degree in economics from the University of Gothenburg in 1984. Björn served as the mayor of Þórshafnarhreppur from 2001 to 2006 and Langanesbyggð from 2006 to 2009. He became mayor of Fljótsdalshérað in July 2010 after working as a self-employed business consultant. Additionally, he was a substitute member of parliament for the Independence Party from 2009 to 2010.
