Bjørn Gunnar Braathen was a Norwegian shipowner and aviation pioneer, significantly contributing to the development of Norwegian aviation. He worked at Ludv. G. Braathens Rederi A/S from 1952 to 1985 and served as CEO of Braathens S.A.F.E from 1977 to 1989. He founded Norsk Jetmotor in 1989, which became GKN Aerospace Norway, and established Braathens Helikopter. In 2001, he and his wife were featured in a TV episode for buying a manor in Denmark. He was awarded the St. Olavs Orden and the Orden del Mérito Civil.
