Birgit Valgerd Klockars (1912-1996) was a Finnish missionary, historian, and author who wrote in Swedish. She was born in Kruunupyy and became involved with the Salvation Army after her graduation in 1930. Klockars worked as a missionary in China from 1935, leading an orphanage during WWII. After returning to Finland in 1946, she studied theology and psychology. She converted to Catholicism in 1952 and completed her PhD in 1960 on Bishop Hemming of Turku. Klockars also published research on St. Bridget and the Bridgettine convent in Naantali.
