William John Glasson, born on January 2, 1953, is a prominent Australian ophthalmologist known for his role as the President of the Australian Medical Association from 2003 to 2005. He also made political attempts as a candidate for the Liberal National Party of Queensland during the 2013 federal election for the Griffith seat held by Prime Minister Kevin Rudd. However, he was unsuccessful in both the general election and the ensuing by-election in February 2014 following Rudd's resignation from Parliament.
