William J. Dally is an American computer engineer and professor at Stanford University, specializing in VLSI design for parallel computers and digital signal processors. He earned a B.S. from Virginia Tech, a M.S. from Stanford, and a Ph.D. from Caltech. Dally has contributed significantly to computer architecture, including the J-Machine and M-Machine. He holds over 70 patents, founded Stream Processors Inc., and worked at Nvidia. Dally has received numerous awards, including the Seymour Cray Award and the Eckert-Mauchly Award, and is a member of various esteemed engineering and computer science organizations.
