Bertil Folke Bonde Axelson was a Swedish linguist born on December 22, 1906, in Helsingborg and died on March 28, 1984, in Lund. He earned his Ph.D. in 1933 with a thesis on Seneca and became an associate professor in Latin at Lund University the same year. In 1945, he became a professor of Roman eloquence and poetry at Lund University. His notable works include Neue Senecastudien, Das Prioritätsproblem Tertullian-Minucius Felix, and Unpoetische Wörter.
