John Albert 'Bertie' de Silva was a cricketer from Ceylon who played first-class cricket for Oxford University and Dr J Rockwood's Ceylon XI. Active between 1924 and 1930, he had notable performances including a match in 1927 where he scored 25 and 65 runs for Oxford against Harlequins. After graduating, de Silva worked in the Forest Department in Ceylon from 1927 to 1957, eventually becoming Conservator of Forests from 1950 until 1957.
