Bernhard Esau, also known as Bernhardt or Bernard, is a former Namibian politician born on December 9, 1957, in Swakopmund, Namibia. He served as the Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources from 2010 until November 13, 2019. Esau studied economics and accounting in the USA and Namibia and worked in the economy during the 1970s and 1980s. He was a member of the Namibian National Assembly from 1995 to 2019, and prior to his ministerial role, he was Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry and Deputy Minister for Mines and Energy.
