Scudder's translation of Indriðason's 'Silence of the Grave' earned him the prestigious Crime Writers' Association Gold Dagger in 2005. Additionally, his translation of Indriðason's 'Voices' was celebrated by Ann Cleeves as one of the top 10 crime novels in translation in a 2014 article.
