Bernard Balastre was a French pole vaulter, born on August 29, 1937, in Brest, Finistère, France. He represented France in two European Championships, failing to advance from the qualifiers in Stockholm in 1958 and placing ninth in Belgrade in 1962 with a jump of 450 cm. Balastre won the French national championship in pole vault three times from 1959 to 1961 and set national records twice, ultimately achieving a personal best of 450 cm in 1962 before his record was surpassed two months later.
