Benjamin Rowland (December 2, 1904 - October 3, 1972) was an American art historian specializing in South Asian art. He served as a professor at Harvard University, where he began as a tutor in 1930 and eventually became the Gleason Professor of Fine Arts. Rowland studied under Chandler Rathfon Post and published a dissertation on Catalan painter Jaume Huguet. He conducted extensive research trips to study Buddhist murals and the Hellenistic influence on Buddhist sculptures. He was also a watercolor painter and curator at the Fogg Art Museum, and his collection of South Asian art was bequeathed to the Victoria and Albert Museum.
