Bencze Imre (March 25, 1932 – November 22, 2012) was a prominent Hungarian geographer and poet. He earned a doctorate in geography and was known for his proficiency in languages, particularly Hungarian, holding six advanced language exams. His recognition in Hungary was bolstered by the success of his poem parody 'Édes, ékes apanyelvünk' performed by Imre Sinkovits at the III. Humorfesztivál in 1987. Though many of his poems remained unpublished, they gained visibility through radio broadcasts and the internet. He was also a regular contributor to the magazine Füles.
