Beichō Katsura, born Nakagawa Kiyoshi on November 6, 1925, was a renowned Japanese rakugo performer and a significant figure in contemporary rakugo, having vastly contributed to the revival of Kamigata rakugo after World War II. His artistic contributions earned him critical accolades, including being designated a Living National Treasure in 1996 and receiving the Order of Culture in 2009, the first in the performing arts. He was also known by his haiku name, Yaso-hachi, and spent much of his life in Amagasaki, contributing to local community development.
