Bedřich Votruba was a Czech graphic artist, painter, and designer, born on October 11, 1922, in Kostelec nad Orlicí. He studied at the Academy of Art, Architecture and Design in Prague from 1941 to 1948 under the guidance of professors Jaroslav Benda and Antonín Strnadela. Throughout his life, he dedicated himself to industrial visual design and exhibition work. Votruba was also politically engaged and received the Klement Gottwald Award in 1973.
