Balqis al-Rawi (1939-1981) was an Iraqi diplomat and the second wife of Syrian poet Nizar Qabbani. She played a notable role in diplomacy during her lifetime. Tragically, she was killed in the bombing of the Iraqi embassy in Beirut in the early 1980s, a significant event reflecting the turbulent political climate of the time.
