Ayako Imafuji (February 20, 1906 - March 29, 2003) was a prominent Japanese performer of nagauta, a form of traditional Japanese music played on shamisen. Recognized as a Living National Treasure, she was an important figure in preserving and promoting the art form. Born in what is now Chūō, Tokyo, her real name was Aya Shimura. Her family included notable figures in the world of kabuki, with her father and siblings also involved in the performing arts. She left a significant legacy in the field of traditional Japanese music.
