Austra Skujiņa (February 10, 1909 – September 5, 1932) was a Latvian poet and a representative of new romanticism. Her depressive poetry dealt with themes of unfulfilled love and the hardships of city life, initially published in social-democratic press. Her first poetry collection was released in 1932, shortly after her suicide. Skujiņa's work remains popular, characterized by a tragic worldview, a longing for ideal romantic love, and a critical stance against capitalism, highlighting social injustices.
