Augustine Abeyta was a Puebloan-American painter from Tesuque Pueblo, New Mexico, known for his contributions to the American Indian art scene during the 20th century. Born around 1914, he was the son of Julio Abeyta, a prominent silversmith and former governor of Tesuque Pueblo, and the brother of Crucita Abeyta, an accomplished potter. His notable work was exhibited at the American Indian Exposition and Congress in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in October 1937. Abeyta's legacy reflects the rich cultural heritage of the Puebloan community.
