August 'Gustav' Hilber (July 15, 1909 – February 13, 1934) was an Austrian freedom fighter. He worked as an electrician at Steyr-Werken and was a member of the republican Schutzbund. Hilber was killed during the Austrian Civil War on February 13, 1934, while defending the Ennsleite in Steyr. His remains were cremated, and his grave is located in the urn cemetery in Steyr. A street in Steyr is named after him, highlighting his contribution to the fight for democracy.
