He is dedicated to accelerating the development of a cure for aging, a medical objective he refers to as 'manipulated negligible senescence,' where 'aging' means biological decline due to age. He focuses on seven areas of the biological aging process he aims to medically treat. De Grey believes the first individuals who will live for a thousand years have already been born.
