Athanasios, known as Andrey Nikolaou, is a Cypriot Christian cleric and metropolitan bishop of Limassol. He was ordained as a deacon in 1973 and completed his theological education at the University of Thessaloniki. In 1980, he settled in Mount Athos, where he became a hieromonk in 1982. He returned to Cyprus in 1992 upon the request of Archbishop Chrysostomos I and established a monastic brotherhood. Athanasios was elected Metropolitan of Limassol on February 11, 1999, and was ordained as a bishop the following day.
