Aşık Ali Nurşani is a Turkish poet and Alevi folk singer, born on February 2, 1959, in İslahiye, Gaziantep Province. He has published around 25 Turkish musical albums, having transformed a selection of his numerous poems into songs that became popular since the early 1970s. After moving to Germany in 1979, he released the album 'Almanya Özel'. Following a throat operation that damaged his vocal cords, his son, Engin Nurşani, took over singing responsibilities. Engin was also a renowned musician until his death in December 2020.
