Syed Asghar Ali was a notable cricketer who played first-class cricket in India and Pakistan between 1943 and 1957. As a middle-order batsman, he scored his highest innings of 103 not out in the 1947–48 Ranji Trophy, contributing significantly to his team's total. He represented Pakistan in two matches against the Ceylon team and was also named as a substitute for the 1952–53 tour of India, though he did not participate in any games during that tour.
