Asbjørn Tønnesen, born on October 7, 1966, is a Norwegian cartoonist and illustrator. He is known for his illustrations for children's series and characters, notably Terje Formoe's Captain Sabertooth. Tønnesen has also illustrated comics and books, including Frid Ingulstad's children's book Magnus Viking from 2001. His drawings are characterized by a confident line and technique, often rendered in soft watercolors in an easily accessible, comic-inspired style. Tønnesen lived for several years in Eydehavn, Arendal municipality, but currently resides in Sweden.
