Arthur Ludwig Polson (1934-2003) was a Canadian composer, violinist, and conductor. He studied in Canada, California, and New York. He was a member of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra from 1954 to 1962 and performed as a soloist in the Canadian premiere of Dmitri Shostakovich's Violin Concerto in 1958. Polson served as concertmaster for the Victoria Symphony Orchestra and Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, and he conducted various new works. He was an influential composer, creating concertos and string quartets, and taught at the University of Manitoba.
