Arthur Atkinson (1906–1963), nicknamed 'Bruss', was an English professional rugby league footballer known for playing mainly as a centre from 1925 to 1940. He represented Great Britain, England, and Yorkshire, and served as the captain of his club, Castleford. Notably, Atkinson is credited by some with a world record for a 75-yard penalty kick during a game against St. Helens on 26 October 1929, although this claim is contested by another player’s longer kick. His career left a significant impact on rugby league.
