Arnold Briedis, born on August 20, 1955, is a former Australian rules footballer who played as a centre half-forward for North Melbourne in the VFL during the 1970s. He was part of the club's first premiership side in 1975 and holds a record of 38 goals in finals football for North Melbourne. Briedis is known for his performance in the 1977 Grand Final, where he contributed significantly despite some inaccuracy. He later famously mispronounced the winner of the Norm Smith Medal in 2010. He is also the older brother of teammate Robert Briedis.
