Armando Scannone Tempone was a Venezuelan engineer and gastronomer, best known for his cookbook series 'Mi Cocina: A la manera de Caracas.' His first book, published in 1982 and fondly referred to as the 'red book of Scannone,' is a staple of Venezuelan cuisine and one of the best-selling books in Venezuela's history. He also served as the vice president of the College of Engineers of Venezuela and was the founding president of the Venezuelan Academy of Gastronomy.
