Armando Manzanero Canché (commonly known as Armando Manzanero) was a renowned Mexican singer, composer, music producer, and actor born on December 7, 1935, in Mérida, Yucatán, México. He belonged to the Maya people and is recognized as the first Mexican Romantic composer in the post-war period. Manzanero became one of the most successful composers in Latin America and received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in the United States in 2004.
