Armando Cabrera is a Dominican composer born on March 13, 1921, in Santiago de los Caballeros. A self-taught musician, Cabrera gained early recognition as a guitarist. In the 1940s, he formed the trio Trovadores Modernos and later performed with the Trio Azteca. He is best known for composing boleros, including 'Tú me haces falta,' which gained popularity through recordings by various artists. In 1988, Cabrera co-founded Trio Los Tres, further contributing to the Dominican music scene.
