Ari Huusela is a Finnish pilot and amateur offshore sailor, born on October 28, 1962. He has amassed over 25,000 flying hours and has sailed more than 50,000 nautical miles prior to his participation in the Vendée Globe race. Huusela took part in the 2020-2021 Vendée Globe, becoming the first individual from the Nordic countries to compete and complete this challenging single-handed, non-stop around-the-world sailing competition.
