Archie Brown (1911-1990) was an American longshore worker and union organizer, who was notably active in San Francisco. He was an open communist and became well-known as a defendant in the landmark Supreme Court case United States v. Brown, which ruled in his favor and overturned a provision of the Landrum-Griffin Act that prohibited communists from holding leadership roles in labor unions. His case was significant in shaping labor rights and union leadership policies.
