Anthony Chivers was a British long-distance runner known for his achievements in the mid-20th century. Born on April 12, 1920, in Somerset, England, he competed prominently in cross country and track events. In 1947, he finished twelfth in the International Cross Country Championships and won the English Championship in the six-mile event. He earned a bronze medal in the three-mile race and placed sixth in the six-mile race at the 1950 British Empire Games in Auckland. Notably, he was the oldest torchbearer at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
